Pussila was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, a distinction shared by fellow international diva Shakira. At age three she began her odyssey of travel and artistic expression when her family moved to Maracay, Venezuela. Over the next eleven years an extreme passion for the arts took hold. Music, singing, painting, and dance became her means of expression. Arriving in Miami at age fourteen, she continued her artistic interests into middle school. Going on to Miami Northwestern Senior High she completed the visual arts program, graduating with honors.
Pussila's path of self awareness and creative experimentation moved into fast forward after high school. She came to accept her sexual orientation, met her first love, spent a year in Los Angeles and began feeling a need to find an audience. Returning to Miami after her stay in Hollywood, the first love now history, Pussila began experimenting with makeup and different types of creative drag. On an evening out at the Ozone nightclub in south Miami, her friends encouraged her to enter a drag contest--she competed and won. The seed was planted for some of the most unique and intoxicating drag on both sides of the world.
The late nineties found Pussila in Cairns, Australia where she moved to be with her second love. A small city, one gay club, drab drag. What's a girl to do? Pussila went to the rescue. She was offered a job to do a show every weekend. Pussila went down under-came up professional-and she was only getting started. As the twentieth century and her second love came to a close, Pussila once again returned home to Miami. Taking the stage like a high priestess, she enchanted crowds at Twist nightclub's open mic show. Fans followed to witness her Sunday antics as MC of Drag Brunch at the South Beach restaurant Samba Room. Soon after, she began hosting the Friday night show at Cactus nightclub in Miami and lit the stage at Madam's cabaret in North Miami Beach.
By 2002 Twist had become her home away from home when she began hosting Sundays and Mondays. Her public wanted more, leading her to create the Tuesday night Pussila Madness Show, a dysfunctional, amateur stripper contest that has morphed into a combination of Jerry Springer, American Idol, and Sabado Gigante. Continuing to work different events throughout Miami, Pussila has made a commitment to reach as many souls as possible. She has appeared on the TV shows Wild On, for the Travel Channel and Telemundo International for the show America en Vivo.
Always working on new projects for the future, her magic and mayhem continue to be a Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night staple at Twist nightclub. Come get a delectable taste!
